Welcome back Russell!

 After a successful run over the last few years in TA2 Russell Wright is set to rejoin the Get Chopped / Blaze Batteries Australian TransAm series when racing returns later in the year. Many will remember Wright has previously competed in Australian TransAm running the yellow no.55 Mustang now run by Chris La Rosa no.33.

In an exciting move for the series Wright has purchased the English no.99 Mustang and will be a valuable addition to the 6 Litre category. Given his race experience and love for the mustangs it won’t be long before we see Wright battling at the font of the field.

The car is currently in the very capable hands of Robbie Hackwood getting a check over and refresh ready for a return to the track as soon as possible. Wright confirmed we will once again be seeing his no.55 on doors but his signature yellow won’t be back immediately pointing out the current blue paint is in excellent condition and looks good on the car, he didn’t rule out the yellow returning in the future.

Wright says he can’t wait to return to the series explaining it ticks all the boxes for his current racing aspirations. He has a local crew and says the reduction in travel, cost savings along with the familiar faces in the series will make his racing very enjoyable.
