Ian Palmer
Beginning his racing career in the Queensland Gemini Series, Ian moved to Production Cars (via Australia Production Car Championship) where he continued to race for four years. Over the next few years, Ian competed in multiple endurance races at Bathurst: the Bathurst 6 Hour twice and twice each for the Bathurst 12 and 24 Hour races.
Racing as a privateer in what is now called the V8 Supercars, Ian competed in four '1000' races with a best finish of 13th place. Realising he did not have the budget, nor the expertise to run a competitive car on the track, Ian transitioned to GT cars.
For over a decade, Ian enjoyed racing in the fun and competitive GT series. Once the series became too expensive to run though, Ian started to look for alternative options. A small stint with the Touring Car Masters seemed to tick all the boxes as a fun, enjoyable and affordable way to run a race car, however, when the rules kept constantly changing, Ian realised it was time to find something else.
For the past ten years, Ian has been involved with Australian TransAm. An enjoyable mix of both motor racing and affordability, Ian also loves the interaction with the good people of the series, plus best of all, no rule changes.
